The world of Russian music of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries is much richer than music lovers and even professionals can imagine. In the archives, storages and private collections there are a lot of rare unknown scores. They say that manuscripts do not burn, but manuscripts of scores can keep silence for a long time. The task of the project “Russian Composers’ Heritage Revival” is to make this lost music sound again and to show how rich and varied the Russian musical heritage is. We want to restore historical justice, to incorporate forgotten and rarely performed musical pieces into the modern cultural context.
At the site you will find information on lives and creative work of those composers who became heroes of different parts of the project, restored records of pieces of music, documentaries devoted to the musicians and the time they lived in, as well as the recent news connected with the project “Russian Composers’ Heritage Revival”.
